Had a fun session at Five Points Academy in NYC with Arjan Jud. Such a friendly guy and great trainer. Arjan Jud has trained top Muay Thai fighters such as Buakaw, Namsaknoi, Chok Dee, and many more.

A view of some countryside homes seen during the ride before we trained. Note to self: Don't ever complain about a 2,000 sq. ft. house again.

Grand Tuhon's back yard. Training aid for power development and body/arm/leg conditioning. (Plus, it gets really hot there.) Also shown is the infamous sparring circle located on the dirt spot.

After hitting these a few thousand times with a heavy 3-foot piece of pipe you begin to appreciate Kali conditioning. In Pekiti-Tirsia, tire training is a staple.

Don't let the serene visual of this pool fool you. It's a "training area" too. Pictured above is at the Mambukal Resort where we trained knife techniques and grappling in the pool. Yes, in the pool. You just never know when you'll be in a particular environment, (water in this case) and need to know how to manage your skills. (i.e. fighting in water.)

Just above the pool... Giant fruit bats. aka Flying Foxes.

Some tools of the trade.

Holding a Barong. It just feels deadly. This was definitely a tool for war.

Grand Tuhon gave me a once over on the tire. August of 2008, Pennsylvania. Knees, elbows, hacks (knifehand), palms strikes, headbutts, grabbing and pulling. "C'mon! Hit hard! HIT HARD!"
